The World Poker Tour! I guess there’s not a lot more to say about this as the prestige and glory of this particular tournament is one that is witnessed in its name. It’s a poker tour, around the world, spanning hundreds of cities and it is THE most prestigious of them all, and most of all, it’s coming back to our beloved, poker-hungry country.
WPT initially debuted in India in 2017, and was hosted at the precious Deltin Royale Casino, a luxury ship anchored on the coast of Panjim, Goa. They managed to attract over 1500 entries with over one third of it in the main event alone, which was eventually shipped by Vikash Mantri who made a cool INR 60,30,000. The second edition took place in 2018 between 13th and 19th November and broke all previous records by accumulating over 1800 entries. The main event was taken down by high stakes specialist Nikunj Jhunjhunwala for a huge sum of INR 66.35 lakhs.
Determined to trump all three previous editions, the series is back starting this October from the 15th to the 21st with 8 events scheduled to grab everyone’s attention starting from the 20K Kickoff NLH event all the way to the 55K main event as well as the 100K Highroller event.
